Quality of life is a complex economic category broadly reflecting the level of people's needs and their interests. Considering quality of life as a system, the following might be included in it as its parts: goods, materials, services, social and spiritual needs, security, and other categories of conveniences. The public authorities of different levels state the improvement of the quality of housing and communal as one of the priorities. Development of the housing-and-municipal complex of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) as a supporting industry is one of the main criteria for assessing the quality of life of the population. A low level of comprehensive improvement of the housing stock, the problem of disposing of solid waste, industrial waste, sewage, etc., in the localities of the Republic make the need for in-depth research and development of the program activities of housing industry, taking into account the specific conditions of the northern region. The article deals with the features of the housing and home improvement services in the region. The author analyzes the socio-economic indicators reflecting the quality of life of the population and provides a comparison of the conveniences levels in the area, region and districts.
