Subject. Economic and demographic situation in the Republic of Bashkortostan.
Objectives. Assessment of the relationship between key economic indicators and the expected life expectancy in the Republic of Bashkortostan.
Methods. Comparative and correlational analyses.
Results. A statistically significant positive correlation has been confirmed between the real income index and expected life expectancy. Despite growth in certain nominal indicators, the Republic of Bashkortostan still lags behind the national average in terms of real income and per capita cash payments, which comes with a steady trend of population decline.
Conclusions. The research results can be taken into account at the regional level when developing measures to improve people's quality of life.

Keywords: quality of life of the population, income, expenses, life expectancy
