Subject. Digital transformation as a key factor in shaping and evolving industrial ecosystems in the context of Industry 4.0.
Objectives. Theoretical justification for the shift from an industry-specific competition paradigm to ecosystem coordination in manufacturing. Assessing the role of digital disruption in transforming business models and the organizational architecture of industrial production.
Methods. Meta-analysis, comparative analysis, structural-functional modeling.
Results. The structure of the industrial ecosystem (digital platform, participants, infrastructure, technical resources) has been developed, and its differences from a digital platform have been shown.
Conclusions. Digital disruption leads to replacing the industry-centered model with ecosystem competition, where the orchestrator plays the key role, and the competitive advantage shifts from owning assets to having architectural control over the ecosystem.

Keywords: Industry 4.0, ecosystem competition, ecosystem orchestrator, industrial ecosystems, networked production organization, digital disrupt
