Subject. The standard of living of the population and the production potential of the Far Eastern Federal District. Objectives. Identifying and organizing the factors that affect some key macroeconomic indicators of the Far Eastern Federal District. Methods. Correlation-regression analysis, scenario forecasting. Results. Dependence on the extractive industry will somewhat slow down the growth of economic development indicators in the Far Eastern Federal District. The development of the extractive industry will have a positive impact on raising the living standards of the region's population. Conclusions. The research results can be taken into account when developing development strategies for the extractive industry of the Far Eastern Federal District as a whole and its regions.
