Subject. Improving the quality of medical services, the health of the population. Objectives. Development of recommendations for minimizing threats to the financial security of the healthcare sector. Methods. Statistical and comparative analysis tools were applied. Results. A set of indicators of financial and social security has been presented, which can be used to assess the level of development of the healthcare sector of a region. A number of measures for financially incentivizing the labor of healthcare workers have been developed. It has been established that enhancing the digitalization of business processes in the healthcare sector will make it possible to optimize the use of resources, reduce losses from irrational prescription of medicines, and lower administrative costs. Conclusions. The research results can be used by executive authorities in the implementation of various social support programmes for the population.
