The impact of innovative infrastructure on the investment climate in Russian regions: Considering technology parks as a case study

Subject. Development of new technologies, creation of high-performance jobs.
Objectives. Assessment of the impact of the technology park network on the region's innovation potential.
Methods. Econometric modeling tools were applied.
Results. Based on regression analysis, a statistically significant positive effect of the number of technology parks on investment in fixed capital and on the innovation potential of regions has been proven. Nonlinear specifications show a higher explanatory power and confirm that the effect of the operation of technology parks increases with their expansion and institutional consolidation.
Conclusions. The research results may be taken into account by regional authorities in the process of forming programmes for the development of innovation infrastructure.
