Subject. Development of the labor market in the Republic of Uzbekistan at the present stage.
Objectives. Identification and assessment of the main factors affecting the level of population employment.
Methods. Comparative and factor analyses were used.
Results. Alongside economic, social, and demographic factors, in the Republic of Uzbekistan, geographic factors (in particular, the distance of a region from the capital of the country) have a significant impact on the level of employment of the population.
Conclusions. When developing strategies for the development of sectors of the economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, territorial aspects of the problem of population employment should be given increased attention.
