Subject. The phenomenon of digital transformation. The impact of modern technologies on various types of activities.
Objectives. A critical review of interpretations of the concept of Digital Transformation.
Methods. A methodology has been used that involves deconstructing complex definitions into key components.
Results. Digital transformation should be understood as a continuous process of integrating and implementing digital technologies into all aspects of an organization's activities. Digital technologies are rapidly developing, and their implementation allows for increased work efficiency, the creation of new value, improved competitiveness, and adaptation to changing market demands.
Conclusions. In most of the definitions used, the concept of 'digital transformation' does not take into account the key components – the reasons and the purpose of the process. Digital transformation should not be reduced to a technical or operational level, as ignoring cultural changes does not allow one to assess the impact of this complex process on the economy and society as a whole.
