Subject. The role of mono-specialized regions in strengthening Russia's economic potential. Objectives. Analysis of statistical indicators of the development of oilfield service companies in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra, and determination of measures to improve their efficiency. Methods. Methods of systems analysis were applied. Results. Based on statistical data, key problems and threats that hinder the development of mining and mineral processing have been identified. It has been shown that ensuring sustainable economic growth requires a transformation in the forms of interaction between the state and business. As the main solution, the concept of an oilfield services cluster was proposed. Conclusions. The research findings are of interest to executive authorities, business leaders, and other stakeholders involved in the economic transformation processes of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra.
