Subject. This article discusses the financial support for the regions of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.
Objectives. The article aims to identify the relationship between investments in fixed assets, a region’s investment attractiveness, and the stability of its budget.
Methods. For the study, I used statistical and comparative analyses.
Results. The article finds that large volumes of investment are generally recorded in those Arctic regions that are characterized by higher investment attractiveness and budget stability, and vice versa. Ranking the regions of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation by level of investment attractiveness and budget stability reflects the real socioeconomic situation and confirms the results obtained by various rating agencies.
Conclusions. The research results can be taken into account when developing programs aimed at supporting regions that are of strategic importance to the country's economy.
