Subject. This article discusses the impact of digitalization on employment challenges. Objectives. The article aims to assess the benefits of new forms of employment, taking into account the challenges associated with economic globalization and the rapid development of information technologies. Methods. For the study, we used a systems analysis. Results. The article finds that flexible employment increases job satisfaction but it is characterized by income instability. In developed countries, the institutionalization of flexible employment helps form stable gig economy models. In developing countries, flexible employment is often associated with a lack of social guarantees for workers. Conclusions. Forming a balanced and fair model of flexible employment becomes a strategic task for the State, business, and society as a whole.
