Subject. This article considers the significance of the sustainable development concept when designing a regional policy in modern conditions. Objectives. The article aims to develop an integrative approach to assessing the stability of regional economic systems. Methods. For the study, I used a mathematical analysis. Results. The article presents an author-developed system to assess the stability of a region based on forty two indicators reflecting ecological, social, managerial, and economic aspects of development. The article also conducts data normalization, calculates an integral regional sustainability index, and carries out clustering of subjects of the Siberian Federal District through the k-means method. Conclusions. The integration of the ESG approach and the sustainable development concept provides a better understanding of the state of regional economic systems and contributes to effective managerial decision-making.
