Subject. This article discusses the issues of realization of the Irkutsk Oblast’s economic potential.
Objectives. The article aims to develop comprehensive measures to promote innovation in the Irkutsk Oblast.
Methods. For the study, we used the methods of systems and comparative analyses.
Results. The article identifies the main factors hindering the development of innovation in the Irkutsk Oblast and proposes certain measures to improve the Oblast’s infrastructure, training qualified personnel, and stimulating business innovation activity.
Conclusions. Increased innovation activity and expanded markets can help strengthen the position of the Irkutsk Oblast in the national and global economy.
