Subject. This article discusses China's policy on reducing harmful emissions.
Objectives. The article aims to identify the key peculiarities of China's carbon market and develop recommendations for its improvement based on international practices.
Methods. For the study, I used a comparative analysis.
Results. The article identifies the main problems of China's carbon market, and it proposes certain measures for improving the pricing mechanism, expanding sector coverage, and involving small and medium-sized enterprises in the implementation of programmes to achieve carbon neutrality.
Relevance. The results obtained can be taken into account when developing a strategy for the development of international trade in carbon emissions quotas.
