Subject. This article discusses the issues of reducing pollutant emissions and using renewable energy sources.
Objectives. The article aims to assess the advantages and disadvantages associated with the use of various types of non-fossil fuel.
Methods. For the study, I used the methods of logical and statistical analyses.
Results. The article finds that the use of renewable energy sources is a powerful driver of innovative and technological, and economic growth.
Conclusions. The implementation of technological innovations, the organization of production of necessary products (including within the framework of import substitution), and the formation and realization of various support mechanisms for the industry can contribute to the development of a low-carbon economy in Russia.
