Subject. This article discusses the issues of preventing environmental damage and the rational use of resources. Objectives. The article aims to justify the necessity of using gas filtration equipment to gain additional profit through sales of a secondary product, reduction of atmospheric pollution, and environmental payments. Methods. For the study, we used the mathematical research methods. Results. Based on a cost-effectiveness analysis of the profitability of vortex technology for cleaning gas emissions from nitric acid vapors and mist by absorption, the article finds that the cost of the product captured from the gas depends on the concentration of the substance in the gas. Conclusions. By implementing vortex technology for cleaning gas emissions, the prevented economic damage is expressed not only in economic indicators but also in the preservation of human health over a large area, and in the preservation of buildings, structures, and the environment as a whole.
