Subject. This article considers the investment attractiveness of regions as an important factor of economic development, and it also discusses the issue of resource allocation.
Objectives. The article aims to identify determinants of investment attractiveness.
Methods. For the study, we used a panel data analysis.
Results. Based on the analysis of the investment attractiveness of the regions of the Russian Federation, the article describes the relationship between various indicators and the level of investment attractiveness of the studied regions.
Conclusions. Investor behavior can change depending on trends in the economy. Determining the level of investment attractiveness implies assessing various risks, so regional authorities, when choosing a development strategy, should consider both the strengths and weaknesses.
