Subject. This article discusses the issues of training specialists in the field of digital technologies, and the contribution of digital technologies to ensuring economic growth at the levels of region and country as a whole.
Objectives. The article aims to analyze the relationship between the development of higher education in digital specialties and regional development in the Russian Federation.
Methods. For the study, we used statistical, regression, and cluster analyses.
Results. Based on the calculations, the article clusters the regions of the Russian Federation in accordance with the levels of development of digital education and regional development. It also proposes a regression model, which helps identify the relationship between the development of digital education and regional development.
Conclusions and Relevance. In Russia, the level of development of digital education is below the average values, and the level of development of the regions is above the average ones. The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of utilizing the results obtained when planning activities for the development of higher education programmes in digital specialties.
