Subject. This article discusses the role of green bonds in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in China, as well as overseas green bond markets.
Objectives. The article aims to develop proposals for the further development of the green bond market in China.
Methods. For the study, I used the general scientific research methods.
Results. The article finds that the unification of Chinese and international standards for the issuance of green bonds will heighten the interest of foreign investors in the development of projects related to environmental protection.
Conclusions. Priority should be given to promoting green bonds within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
