Subject. This article considers the fuel and energy complex as a strategically important branch of the Russian economy.
Objectives. The article aims to analyze the infrastructure support for the development of the economy of the northern regions of Russia and the oil industry, in particular.
Methods. For the study, we used a statistical analysis.
Results. The article reads that mutual cooperation between the northern regions of the country will contribute to the development of the mining industry, which is of strategic importance for Russia, and the development of the social sphere, transport and communications industries will improve the attractiveness of the areas for the population.
Conclusions. The formation of a critical information infrastructure functioning in a sustained fashion requires governmental support.
