Subject. This article discusses the impact of a healthy diet on human health and the development of the country's economy. Objectives. The article aims to assess opportunities to improve the availability and affordability of healthy food in Russia. Methods. For the study, I used the general scientific research methods. Results. The article finds that an integrated approach to the development of agriculture, implying the modernization of production and scientific research, will help solve the problems associated with the choice of food, and provide the population with healthy and high-quality food products. Conclusions. The population's health depends on the diet directly. The health of people is one of the main components of national wealth.
