Subject. This article discusses the issues of development of forestry and use of renewable natural resources. Objectives. The article aims to develop and assess the benefits of various forest management mechanisms. Methods. For the study, I used structural and comparative analyses. Results. The article presents the developed vertical and horizontal mechanisms of forest management, as well as the mechanism of structuring objective economic processes. The article also analyzes the advantages of the cluster model for the development of the Russian forest complex. Relevance. The results of the study are important for the development of the theory of strategic management of economic systems.
