Subject. This article discusses the organizational and legal particularities of agricultural holding companies. Objectives. The article aims to develop an algorithm for investigating and identifying the causes of various types of incidents that negatively affect production, safety and the environment. Methods. For the study, we used economic and statistical, abstract and logical, and comparative analyses. Results. The article defines and describes in detail the main stages of the investigation of incidents, and presents a developed form of a special document – Incident Investigation Report. Conclusions. Developing a holistic view of the causes of an incident improves the effectiveness of corrective actions to prevent the incident recurrence in the future.
