Subject. This article considers the macroregion as an important economic unit.
Objectives. The article aims to assess the investment potential of the Central Black Earth macroregion and analyze the changes in economic indicators reflecting the level of development of entrepreneurship.
Methods. For the study, we used a comparative analysis and tabular and graphic visualization methods.
Results. The article finds a relationship between the competitive advantages of the subjects of the macroregion and the level of spatial polarization. There is a high probability of localization of regional economies.
Conclusions. It is necessary to develop programmes aimed at smoothing out disparities in the socio-economic development of areas.
