Subject. This article discusses the issues of ensuring the technological sovereignty of Russia. Objectives. The article aims to determine the role of student startup studios opened in Russian universities in the development of scientific activity. Methods. For the study, we used comparative and qualitative analyses. Results. The article summarizes the practices of organizing scientific research in foreign and Russian universities. Based on the analysis of the problems of commercialization of the results of intellectual activity in the context of ensuring the technological sovereignty of Russia, the article formulates recommendations for designing the organizational model of a student startup studio. Conclusions. A unified approach to creating a student startup studio is impossible, since it should be organically integrated into the existing management structure of the university, taking into account the traditions and notion of vertical and horizontal communication.
