Subject. This article analyzes the resilience of the food system of the Magadan Oblast.
Objectives. The article aims to conduct a post-hoc analysis of per capita production and actual consumption of the food staples in the Magadan Oblast for 1990–2020.
Methods. For the study, I used a post-hoc analysis, SWOT analysis, and tabular and graphic data visualization.
Results. The article presents data on food self-sufficiency of the Magadan Oblast.
Conclusions. In the Magadan Oblast, there is complete self-sufficiency in certain types of food products. However, to reduce the dependence of the Oblast's food system on the import of certain types of products, it is necessary to continue the government policy on the development of the local agro-industrial complex and food industry. Present-day political, economic and technological challenges open up new opportunities for the Magadan Oblast, helping create food self-sufficiency underlying strength.
