Subject. This article discusses new forms of sustainable development of the regional economic system in the context of digitalization, as well as the processes of its structural transformation. Objectives. The article aims to determine the methodological potential of the process approach to the analysis of the digital transformation of economic systems. Methods. For the study, I used general scientific research methods. Results. The article describes the system processes within the framework of the digital transformation of the regional economy. These processes are classified according to the main economic agents. Conclusions. The studied processes should become an object of managerial influence to accelerate digitalization. The emerging regional digital economic system will have the capacity to create value and benefits from a variety of resources.
