Subject. This article discusses the role of scientific research in the development of the modern economy and the forms of State support for regions with high scientific and technological potential.
Objectives. The article aims to develop new tools for State support of scientific activities.
Methods. For the study, I used general scientific research methods.
Results. The article describes the features of the development of innovative scientific and technological centers and their differences from innovation and research and education centers. The article also presents practical recommendations for improving the efficiency of innovative research and education centers.
Conclusions. The effective development of science and technology in Russia requires adjusting the methods of supporting innovative projects depending on the stage of their implementation.
