Subject. This article discusses the concept of regional polycentric development.
Objectives. The article aims to analyze the mechanisms that ensure the formation of a polycentric approach to the management of regional systems.
Methods. For the study, we used general scientific research methods.
Results. Based on the analysis of institutional approaches to the creative economy building, the article identifies the shortcomings of vertically integrated schemes for building communications and proposes the most effective areas for the strategic development of regional systems.
Conclusions. A paradigm shift in regional development is required, taking into account the processes of globalization and digitalization of ecosystems. The formulated solutions make it possible to determine the optimal mechanisms of adaptation to changes in the internal and external environment.
