Subject. This article considers human capital as a factor of labor productivity rise.
Objectives. The article aims to systematize the main structural components of human capital, determine their impact on the regional economy, and typify the Far East regions by public health level.
Methods. For the study, I used a cluster analysis.
Results. The article substantiates the relationship between demographic characteristics, expenditures on education and healthcare, and indicators of economic development of the region. It presents the clustering of the Far East regions in terms of public health indicators for the period from 2000 to 2019.
Conclusions. The regions of the Russian Federation need to adopt targeted programmes to develop human capital and improve its quantitative and qualitative characteristics.
