Subject. This article explores the relationship between the energy security of the region and its resource potential.
Objectives. The article aims to assess the energy security of the region and analyze the possibility of optimizing processes in the fuel and energy complex.
Methods. For the study, we used a statistical analysis.
Results. Based on the analysis of official strategic and tactical plans for the development of the fuel and energy complex, the article reveals the values of indicators characterizing the level of energy security of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
Conclusions. To improve the energy security of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), it is necessary to update the fixed assets of the electric power complex, increase the proportion of renewable energy sources, as well as create its own petroleum refinery, and develop transport networks.
