Subject. This article considers the main parameters of spatial development of the economy.
Objectives. The article aims to conduct a systems analysis of foreign experience necessary to optimize the process of shaping the national space of Russia.
Methods. For the study, we used general scientific research approaches.
Results. The article identifies and substantiates the criteria that are most acceptable for conducting a comparative analysis of countries from the perspective of spatial development. A comprehensive analysis of spatial development in China, Canada, Brazil, Australia, Finland, and Kazakhstan was carried out. The article offers recommendations for improving the practical foundations of the modern organization of the national space.
Relevance. The results of the study can be used by the authorities in the process of improving the modern organization of the national space of Russia.
