Subject. The article analyzes the employment by industry type, relationship between the indicators of individual industries, and the trends in the transformation of the regional economic system. Objectives. The article aims to assess changes in the employment by industry type in the context of the transformation of the Lipetsk Oblast's economy. Methods. For the study, we used the methods of synthesis, comparison, generalization, factor and statistical analyses, and ex post evaluation. Results. The article presents groups of activities that characterize the processes of change and development of institutional transformation in the Lipetsk Oblast. Conclusions and Relevance. Reforming the employment sector can be one of the most important drivers of productivity gains in the region, and as a result, ensure the necessary quality of economic growth. The results of the study can be used to develop an effective labor policy.
