Subject. This article discusses the issues of food supply, limiting factors of production and changes in the external environment, and improving the effectiveness of management.
Objectives. The article aims to define the strategic and tactical goals of the development of agro-industrial structures in the light of their macro- and micro-environment, as well as develop tools to increase the level of use of the agricultural industry capacity.
Methods. For the study, we used the normative and holistic approaches, ex post evaluation, functional, structural, correlation, regression, and dynamic analyses, observation, classification, and grouping, sampling, and comparison.
Results. The article identifies the main problems of the regional agro-industrial complex of Uzbekistan and proposes a set of measures and recommendations to improve the potential of the agro-industrial complex and the effectiveness of strategic management.
Conclusions. The article concludes that internal documents (guidelines) on the diagnosis of strategic efficiency should be developed and approved at the ministerial level. Agricultural production processes need to be monitored.
