Subject The article considers problems of sustainable development of production and industry-specific infrastructure of the region.
Objectives The purpose of the study is to define priorities of structural transformation of the North Caucasian Federal District economy and increase the connectivity of the region through modern infrastructure and communication.
Methods The study draws on works by Russian and foreign scientists, employs methods of economic and statistical analysis. I performed a socio-economic analysis and applied my own calculations.
Results I propose expediting the development of legislative and regulatory framework, improving the mechanism and structure of management of production infrastructure in accordance with the new economic conditions. The paper identifies priority areas for improving the management of industry infrastructure under conditions of a market economy. The scientific and practical results of the study can be useful to forecast the development of structural components of production, information and communication infrastructure of the country and its regions.
Conclusions If applied practically, the concept of the paper will contribute to accelerating the market transformation of manufacturing and information infrastructure, creating favorable conditions for business development, improvement of efficiency of enterprises, and export promotion.
