Subject This article emphasizes the role of systematically assessing environmental factors associated with trends in the development of individual product complexes. Objectives The article aims to assess the impact of political, economic, technological and social environmental factors on the soybean sub-complex of the Amur Oblast as a strategic sector of the Oblast's Agro-Industrial Complex, as well as identify the main problems of its performance. Methods For the study, I used the methods of economics and statistics, abstract-logical, PEST analyses, and the literature review method. Results The article identifies factors that inhibit the development of the sub-complex and require special attention from the State authorities when adjusting the existing policy. Conclusions Political factors have the most positive impact on the performance and development of the soybean sub-complex. The impact of economic, social and technological factors is ambiguous, but more negative. The high percentage of factors that have a negative impact on the development of the soybean sub-complex indicates the low activities of the State authorities in the field of social and technological support for domestic agricultural producers.
