Subject This article considers the issues related to reproduction of labor resources and skilled labor supply to the agrarian sector. Objectives The article aims to investigate the problems of efficient use of labor resources at the agrarian sector enterprises. Methods For the study, we used the methods of statistical analysis, classification, and grouping. Results The article presents a classification of administrative districts of the Saratov Oblast by level of labor productivity and estimation of variation indices. It proposes a regression model of labor productivity dependence on the major production factors. Conclusions Positive changes in the process of formation and use of labor resources are viewed at the agricultural enterprises of the Saratov Oblast. In some periods, there is a discrepancy between the rate of wage growth and labor productivity. One of the contradictions of the sector's current development is a discrepancy between the gender structure of agrarian enterprises personnel and changes in their specialization. The mentioned negative factors can lead to a significant decrease in efficiency and competitiveness of the agrarian sector.
