Migration flows of higher-ed graduates to work in the Arctic Zone of Russia: Quantitative and qualitative aspects

Subject This article discusses the issues related to the development of the territories of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.
Objectives The article aims to perform a quantitative and qualitative analysis of migration flows of university graduates to attract them to work in the regions of the Arctic zone of Russia.
Methods For the study, we used the methods of business economics, and normative, comparison, and expert analyses.
Results The article presents data and indicators of population migration for most regions of the Arctic zone of Russia in general and graduates of universities in particular.
Conclusions The article concludes that the incoming flow of university graduates exceeds the outgoing flow of graduates of local universities. That means that the Arctic regions are attractive for work. The quality of training of specialists arriving in the Arctic is highly consistent with the strategic development priorities of the region.
