Subject The article deals with the issues of administrative and economic management effects aimed at the development of environmental engineering.
Objectives The article aims to develop a methodological approach to the management of environmental engineering, that is, to achieve the desired balance in the demand of the business sector for environmental machines and equipment to the extent that they are produced in order to ensure a given quality of environmental protection and environmental management.
Methods For the study, I used the Aristotelian method and a systems approach.
Results The article offers my own methodological approach to the management of environmental engineering development, aimed at ensuring the quality of environmental protection and environmental management and at achieving the desired balance in the demand of the business sector for environmental machinery and equipment and the volume of production. I have developed certain principles for building a business-sector demand model for environmental engineering products, as well as an algorithm to estimate the target volume of the production of environmental engineering products and the level of investment in environmental engineering.
Conclusions and Relevance The production volume of environmental engineering products and the level of investment in it should be estimated based on a comparison of forecast and targets of environmental protection and environmental management. The management of the environmental engineering development is feasible in the regions the environmental protection and environmental management of which are unsatisfactory. The results of the study can be used to develop the theoretical and applied aspects of environmental management of the economy and improve the governance of socio-environmental-economic systems, which include machinery and equipment.
