Subject The article deals with the issues of research on the implementation of effective industrial policy instruments in the forest sector of the region. The timber sector of the Sverdlovsk oblast is the case study.
Objectives The article aims to analyze the existing regulatory framework and instruments for industrial policy and assess the effectiveness of its implementation in terms of a system approach.
Methods For the study, we used a systems approach.
Results We have examined and defined the characteristics of the current phase of regional industrial policy in the forest sector of the region, based on an analysis of the theoretical perceptions of the nature and targets of industrial policies.
Conclusions The institutional profile of State support for enterprises in the industry is at the stage of active filling with a variety of instruments that are evolving through an integrated approach that takes into account the sectoral and territorial characteristics of the oblast.
