Federal social and economic policies in ensuring the development of the Republic of Dagestan

Subject The article discusses the influence of State policies on the social and economic development of the Republic of Dagestan through target programs.
Objectives The paper aims to analyze the concept of development of the Republic of Dagestan in the Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Dagestan and North Caucasian Federal District, review and analyze the Republic's participation in federal target programs that affect the problem solving in the region.
Methods For the study, I used methods of comparative, factorial, and strategic analyses, SWOT analysis, statistical information of ministries and departments of the Republic of Dagestan.
Results I present my own Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threats analysis of the region, showing what Federal target programs the Republic of Dagestan participated in.
Conclusions I conclude if certain federal and sub-federal target programs, growth strategies and Government regulations get implemented, it will be possible to increase the region's competitiveness and investment attractiveness, and reduce its backlog from other constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
