Importance The article deals with the issues of increasing the economic efficiency of dairy cattle breeding in the Penza oblast. Objectives Considering the current condition of dairy cattle breeding in the Penza oblast, the article aims to reveal its main problems and prospects of development. Methods For the study, I used monographic and abstract-logical methods of analysis. Results The designed structure of milk production in the Russian Federation and Penza oblast shows that a significant proportion of the volume of milk production goes to agricultural enterprises. I present certain proposals to increase the economic efficiency of dairy breeding.
