Importance The article studies the region's logistics capacity which is important to the remote areas of the Russian Federation.
Objectives The article aims to identify the main factors necessary to evaluate the current logistics capacity in the region and planning for its further development, using the indicators of logistics activities and economic situation of the Orenburg oblast as a case study.
Methods As the main method of research, I used a qualitative and quantitative analysis of statistical data.
Results I have identified the key factors that have an impact on the logistic potential of the region. The analysis of the data shows that the current state of logistics activities in the area is at a high enough level, but to enhance the regional logistics capacity, certain challenges need to be addressed.
Relevance The main provisions, conclusions and recommendations resulting from the study, aim to assess the level of regional logistics capacity. These results could form the basis for periodic monitoring of capacity through one of the methods of evaluation. The identified trends in key indicators of logistics capacities can be used at the regional level to create preconditions for capacity increase in the Orenburg oblast.
