Importance The article discusses the issues of reforming of the public administration system that could lead to specific business approaches to solve the urgent problems. Objectives The paper aims to identify the problems of development of multifunctional centers in the regions of the Russian Federation and the formation of recommendations to address these problems.
Methods For the study, we applied methods of analysis and synthesis, using a wide range of empirical information.
Results The study reveals that one of the major problems of the development of a network of multifunctional centers is the inadequate regulatory framework and lack of coordination between the Government and local management in inter-agency cooperation when providing State and municipal services.
Conclusions We conclude about the necessity of further development of inter-agency cooperation for the efficient organization of multifunctional centers providing public and municipal services, to improve the system of work quality control and enhance the professional competence of multipurpose centers.
