Importance The article deals with the prospects of the Republic of Kazakhstan's participation in the integration process. Objectives The paper aims to define objectives, possibilities, features and results of the international regional associations the post-Soviet countries are in. As well, the paper has a purpose to determine the causes of growth and high competitiveness of some economies and reveal the tendencies in development of the theory of economic competitiveness of the country. Methods For the study, I used a comparative analysis. Results I identified the reasons for growth of the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and improvement of its competitiveness. Conclusions I conclude that the effectiveness of the integration process depends on the effectiveness of State administration and intergovernmental bodies.
