Importance The article considers the issues of consolidation of population in the Far East of the Russian Federation.
Objectives The paper aims to conduct a retrospective analysis of the formation of the territory of the Russian Federation in the zone of the Asia-Pacific Region, to offer financial tools to attract and retain people in the region.
Methods We used a comparative research method.
Results We propose certain measures to restore the demographic potential of the Far East and improve the demographic situation in the region. As well, we invite to adopt a law on the development of the Far East.
Conclusions We conclude that the adoption of a State program to relocate and consolidate the population in the region would increase the influx of people to the Far East. In addition, the development of the region will promote the individual approach towards migrants and address the use of financial instruments.
