Subject The paper considers the assessment of the region's competitiveness through its reproduction potential. Objectives The study aims to develop concept-based provisions and guidelines to assess the competitiveness of the region based on the structural elements of its reproduction potential. Methods The study draws upon methodological tools, including comparative, graphic, formal-and-logical types of analysis, and statistical tools. Results I developed a conceptual framework and methodology to assess the reproduction potential and competitiveness of the region within three subjects (stakeholders): business, the State (government), and population. The study shows that competitiveness is a factor of formation and the result of fulfillment of the reproduction potential of the region. Conclusions and Relevance The findings prove that the management of reproduction potential and competitiveness is a powerful tool to enhance the efficiency of regional economy.
