Attitude to government regulation of the economy: an analysis of international data

Importance The article deals with the issues of formation of individual attitude towards the State regulation of economy.
     Objectives The paper aims to analyze the modern scientific publications on the study’s topic and identify the major groups of predictors.
     Methods We conducted a regression analysis, including the method of least squares, probit regression and a simulation method of maximizing the likelihood function. The World Values Survey (WVS) 5th and 6th waves for 2005–2009 and 2010–2014 respectively, as well as the Life in Transition Survey (LITS) 2nd round formed the database of the work.
     Conclusions and Relevance Our findings highlight the role of education in the formation of market-oriented development in regions, and may be used in developing a government educational policy.
