Importance The article covers the issues of accessibility of transportation services for the people of the Far East of the Russian Federation. Objectives The paper aims to identify trends in the development of transport services to the population of the Far East and propose measures for the development of the region’s transport complex. Methods For the study, I used a comparative analysis. Results I found adverse trends in the development of transport services to the population of the Far East: lowering the population’s transport mobility, changing the directions of passenger traffic; and I identified the most effective measures to support air mobility: extension of the low fare terms, lowering the cost of air flights with an increase in competition among airline companies-carriers, the expansion of State-sponsored airline route network. Conclusions and Relevance I concluded that the economic accessibility for the Far East residents is now significantly lower than the average one in the Russian Federation. The results of this research may be useful to State authorities in forming measures for the development of the transport complex of the region.
