Importance The paper studies the issues of employment of the Tyva Republic population.
Objectives The paper aims to identify the employment behavior features of the population in the region and identify the most favorite ways of finding and getting a job.
Methods We used materials of the sociological research, conducted within the framework of project No. 14-12-17001 of the Russian Foundation for Humanities. A questionnaire survey was the method of information collection applied.
Results On the basis of sociological research methods, we analyzed various aspects of the employment behavior in the labor market of the region, the most popular ways of finding work, specified the attractive working areas in various sectors of the economy. We examined what conditions are considered by respondents as the most important for finding and getting a job.
Conclusions The most preferred behavior models in the labor market of the Tyva Republic and employment methods indicate, that neither independent work-search alternatives newly appeared, nor good training, are able to compete with informal relationships.
